Good Monday Morning!

I hope you had an enjoyable weekend!

I was thinking about words over the weekend and wondering where we would be without the ability to communicate. Words have influence. We can share them in positive ways that bring joy and life, or we can deliver them in negative ways that cause hurt and sorrow.

We’ve all be in the presence of people whose words inspire, and sometimes we’ve been the ones delivering thoughts that affirm another’s worth. Sometimes, and I hope not often, we happen upon people whose thought process and patterns are negative. At those times, we might come away feeling discouraged or even hopeless and despondent. Words have power.

Here’s what others have shared on the influence of words and the power of the tongue:

“We need to think of our tongue as a messenger that runs errands for our heart. Our words reveal our character.” Chuck Swindoll

“Words can inspire and words can destroy. Choose yours well.” Robin Sharma

“Be careful with your words. They can only be forgiven, not forgotten.” Toby Mac

“The tongue can paint what the eyes can’t see.” Chinese Proverb

“The tongue is like a sharp knife…kills without drawing blood.” Buddha

“A person’s tongue can give you the taste of his heart.” Ibn al-Qayyim

In Scripture, we read:

Words kill, words give life; they’re either poison or fruit—you choose.” Proverbs 18:21 (MSG)

“Those who guard their mouths and their tongues keep themselves from calamity.” Proverbs 21:23 (NIV)

Finally, the following sentiment is something we all may be wise to consider:

The Tongue Is A Powerful Thing Quotes. QuotesGram

When we use our words to speak life into another, we give them the gift to change their lives positively. Doing the same for ourselves empowers us to accomplish great things despite our past circumstances. In both instances, there’s a release that enables blessings to flow through and around one another, resulting in more remarkable outcomes than we could ever imagine.

Let’s strive to be mindful of our words this week and cause hope to echo on in someone’s heart!

Be Well & Be Blessed!
