Commemorating Memorial Day!
As we reflect on the day, I’d like to share some thoughts from others:
“Courage is not having the strength to go on; it’s going on when you don’t have the strength.” Theodore Roosevelt
“Our flag does not fly because the wind moves it. It flies with the last breath of each soldier who died protecting it.” Unknown
“As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter the words, but to live by them.” John F. Kennedy

“Honor the soldier and sailor everywhere, who bravely bears his country’s cause, honor, also, to the citizen who cares for his brother in the field and serves, as he best can, the same cause.” Abraham Lincoln
“No person was ever honored for what he received. Honor has been the reward for what he gave.” Calvin Coolidge
“Without memory, there is no culture. Without memory, there would be no civilization, no future.” Elie Weisel
“Our debt to the heroic men and valiant women in the service of our country can never be repaid. They have earned our undying gratitude. America will never forget their sacrifices.” Harry S. Truman
“Home of the free because of the brave.” Anonymous
“Greater love has no one that this than to lay down one’s life for his friends.” John 15:13 (NKJV)
May we remember with humility and gratitude the sacrifices made by the bravery of others who ensured our ability to breathe, speak, and dream. We must not diminish the freedom these men and women have assured us with platitudes, but cherish their courage and ensure their sacrifices live on as a legacy to those who follow. May we be tolerant and loving but stand courageously in our convictions. May we be honoring, and may we never forget the price of the freedoms we enjoy.
On this Memorial Day, let’s take a moment to remember, a moment to honor, and a moment to express our heartfelt appreciation for the sacrifices of our fallen heroes.
Be Well & Be Blessed!
Lucinda
