Happy Monday!

I hope you had a lovely weekend and enjoyed the sun and surf. Yes, I’m biased because my default is always the ocean. Maybe you’re an avid hiker, runner, or biker. Or perhaps you’re out on the soccer or baseball field. Whatever your preference, spending time in nature and the great outdoors is indeed a fantastic way to refresh and rejuvenate.

I was recently reflecting on the seasons of life. Sometimes we can’t imagine a more perfect lifestyle, while in other instances, we feel compelled to rewrite our story, add a chapter, or reignite the flames of a previous desire or goal. The story ends there when we allow our logic to undermine our desires. However, if we engage in the process of dreaming, creating, and imagining, we find ourselves with an entirely new outlook.

Yes, there are times when we become weary and may lose our true north, and there’s the possibility of failure, too. The idea of failure can be a reason to abandon those thoughts and dreams. Our minds can connect with different reasoning supporting the legitimacy of quitting. The thing is, though, what if the vision we have is plausible and compelling. What if we’re on the precipice of claiming the victory in a few more steps. What if failures are the building blocks of success. Do we want to deny ourselves and others of what might be life-giving – a veritable game-changer?

When we find ourselves in these circumstances, we’re wise to remember that we have ongoing opportunities to renew our strength and rise in the most effective ways. We’re seldom alone in our planning. Perhaps we have a partner or community of support. Rather than walking away, we can rise to the occasion and strategize on the next steps.

I treasure this quote from Nelson Mandela:

The sentiment gave me pause to consider my current options in life. Failure does not have the power to define us unless we allocate and allow it to influence our truth. I don’t know about you, but I’m a warrior and refuse to be slowed by uncontrollable circumstances. Instead, I choose to rise above and tap into all my resources until I succeed.

This scripture that immediately came to mind is one of my favorites:

“But those who wait on the Lord

 Shall renew their strength;

 They shall mount up with wings like eagles,

 They shall run and not be weary,

 They shall walk and not faint.”

Isaiah 40:31 (NKJV)

What’s holding you back? Are you weary, or do you believe that it’s too late? What would it look like to feel renewed strength and think every failure was a step closer to your goal? What would it be like to allow the presence of the Almighty to inform your thoughts and glean strength?

This week, let’s ponder, wonder, and be curious about how we limit ourselves. Then begin to transform those negative beliefs into positive allies through renewed strength. I’m hoping some powerful transformation will start to fuel our efforts.

Be Well & Be Blessed!
