Compassion has been described as a feeling of deep sympathy accompanied by a strong desire to alleviate suffering (dictionary.com). Buddha is credited with the following statement:
“A generous heart, kind speech, and compassion are the things which renew humanity.”
The Dalai Lama expressed the same sentiment this way:
“Love and compassion are necessities, not luxuries. Without them, humanity cannot survive.”
Jesus told us to “…love one another…” (John 15:12).
No matter how it is expressed, having compassion and living a compassionate lifestyle can be challenging. By nature, we want our own way; sometimes we neglect to think before we talk, often we reserve our love for those we feel are deserving. Many, however, strive to exhibit gentleness and kindness, authentically, demonstrating unconditional love and acceptance regardless of the circumstance.
We are, indeed, blessed to find ourselves among like-minded individuals who exhibit compassion on a daily basis. Your efforts have not gone unnoticed and serve as a beacon of light in our community. Lives are being saved as you continue to be kind and compassionately care for one another.
Have a most wonderful week looking for ways to show how much you care!
