Happy Memorial Day!
Among the many things for which we have to be thankful today are the tireless efforts of our guardians whose service ensures freedom. Please take a moment at some point in your day to reflect on our fallen military men and women and pray for their families. Some of them may be your family, friends, and neighbors and all of them deserve our honor and gratitude for their commitment to our country.
John Fitzgerald Kennedy reminded us that:
“As we express our gratitude we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them.”
May your Memorial Day be reflective of those who made it possible.
To Them We Owe by Don Nielsen
Happened today, and in the past;
Sacrifice made, for ours to last.
Wives to widows, families torn;
Gave their lives, for them we mourn.
Gone forever, souls are lost;
Freedom comes, with this cost.
Enjoy the life, they did preserve;
Fate the suffered, did not deserve.
On this day, lest we forget;
To them we owe, our life in debt.
For those of you who have lost loved ones due to war, our hearts are heavy as we attempt to understand your pain. We owe a debt that will never be repaid and contend for your healing.
Land of the Free BECAUSE of the Brave!
