Miracles can be large or small, expected or unexpected, understood or misunderstood, accepted or rejected. When it comes to our hearts, miracles can promote a sense of fulfillment, help us recover from a loss, and provide a much-needed respite in times of distress. When we fill our hearts with gratitude, we’re able to access miracles in a way that might elude us if we aren’t open to the possibilities of more than our current condition.

On Thanksgiving morning, my daughter asked me to tell her about the circumstances in my life for which I am grateful. As I reviewed the list with her, I could feel the stress and frustration from a hectic season melt away to reveal the miracles of peace, mercy, and understanding. These feelings cleared my mind and opened the opportunity for the even greater miracles of acceptance and love. Together we agreed that gratitude, itself, is a miracle and one that we will purpose to practice every day.

The discipline changed us inside and out, and, as we continued to practice gratitude each morning throughout the weekend, we realized the miracle of more quality time together.

I hope you, too, had a Thanksgiving miracle and that it continues to transform your heart. Because gratitude is a magnet, you’ll be attracting more miracles, and you’ll be able to offer them to the people in your world who need their own miracles!

Be Well and Be Blessed!
