Good Monday Morning!
Happy 3rd week in January – already! I can’t believe we’re a day away from the middle of the month. I don’t know about you, but I’m already waist deep in projects and anticipating more to come.
This season is a perfect time to remind you to take care of your heart. Recently, I learned that most New Year’s resolutions are abandoned by January 11th. For many of us, resolutions may be a set-up for failure, so I prefer to look at attainable goals spread over a realistic timeline. One of my goals this year is to look after the wellbeing of my heart.
Setting heart-goals is different for each of us. Some have set physical goals to strengthen their heart-muscle, which has the lovely benefits of greater overall fitness, increased lifespan, and improved quality of life. Some are processing heart-hurts. Perhaps there have been challenges that have broken our hearts, or we feel the time is right to take a leap of faith in some area that requires heart-strength.
Whatever our heart-goals may be, it’s good to remember what Dr. Charles Stanley has to say:
“The condition of your heart determines the direction of your life.”

We believe Dr. Stanley is on to something because when our hearts are in good condition, whether physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually, or socially we will realize enhanced wellbeing. Think of it this way; if our hearts are healthy, we have more stamina to accomplish our physical tasks, freeing us up for more social engagement and greater mental acuity. When our hearts are feeling fulfilled emotionally, we’re able to be present for the needs of those important to us. As we strengthen our spiritual heart muscle, we’re positioned to be available to assist others in their journey.

Let’s take the time to care for our hearts this week. I believe we might just save lives by shifting direction.
Be
Well & Be Blessed!
