Good Monday Morning!
I hope your weekend was restful!
It’s overwhelming to see all the controversy in the news. People are beginning to feel the effects of the virus in a new way. Our natural inclination is to fear the unknown, becoming scared and stressed.
Navigating through uncertainty has its own brand of chaos, but if we try to be mindful and remain present to the moment, we’re better able to think outside the box. We find new ways to help one another and draw closer together in our collective desires to remain relevant during this time of many questions. When we discipline ourselves to resist the urge to judge another, remain hopeful, support efforts of thoughtfulness and kindness, and courageously pursue healthy activities, we can keep our hearts open to those who need our assistance and compassion.
I found this piece by Brenee Brown that I wanted to share with you as an encouragement:
Ms. Brown’s words spoke to my heart because studying human nature is my passion and assists me in approaching the service of others with strength and gratitude. Gaining access to our curious and creative sides has significant benefits, particularly during different and unusual times. I have chosen to remain authentic, transparent, and hopeful, steadfast in the knowledge that as I choose life, in all its complexity, others will be encouraged to stay calm and hopeful, as well.
Scripture instructs us to “choose life” in Deuteronomy 30:19:
“I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live;” (NKJV)
It’s your choice, of course, but I encourage you to choose to be your best and bravest self this week, to embrace your vulnerability and awkwardness, to be brave and kind, and to choose to be available to one another with compassion and joy.
Be Well & Be Blessed!
Lucinda
