I hope your weekend was enjoyable and restful. Most of us spend precious little time engaged in self-care. The reality is, the more faithful we are to attend to personal revitalization, the more equipped we are to remain present in our jobs, and with those who lean on our strengths. The efforts of ensuring our wellbeing naturally lead to a calmer demeanor, which in turn leads to a more peaceful environment.

Heather K. O’Hara, a novelist and award-winning poet, is the Poet Laureate for “10 Million Clicks for Peace,” dedicated to creating world peace through personal empowerment. Ms. O’Hara works diligently to uncover the truly extraordinary in the world. She has been endorsed by Arun Gandhi, Deepak Chopra, Jack Canfield, and others, joining with them to mindfully attain a more peaceful world. I recently discovered this quote from Ms. O’Hara that I believe embodies the mission of like-minded people who are on the quest to assist others in gaining personal empowerment:

Although the message is one of kindness, these words carry the underlying meaning that as we treat others with unconditional regard and respect, we emulate peacefulness, inclusion, and empowerment.

In Scripture, we read:

“But the wisdom from above is always pure, filled with peace, considerate and teachable. It is filled with love and never displays prejudice or hypocrisy in any form and it always bears the beautiful harvest of righteousness! Good seeds of wisdom’s fruit will be planted with peaceful acts by those who cherish making peace.“ James 3:17-18 (TPT)

How incredible to know that simple acts of peace and kindness act as catalysts in the development of the future yield of wisdom. And the inspiring truth is that we each have a part to play in planting the seeds of the future by believing and encouraging people to hold themselves in positive regard and consideration. We merely need to be kind and supportive in helping people learn to believe in themselves.

Here’s to a week of intentionally supporting those within our sphere of influence for the highest potential of empowerment and peace.
