Good Monday Morning!

I hope your weekend was fantastic as we’re wrapping up August. There’s so much going on ~ children return to school, albeit a version many of us are not accustomed to, and preparations for Fall begin. Finding time for self-care may be a challenge; however, it’s even more critical to establish routines and discipline ourselves during transitional times. Remember, apply your oxygen mask first, so you’ll have the stamina and clarity for loved ones.

The following quote from Joyce Meyer, a contemporary American Charismatic Christian, author, and speaker, seems appropriate for this season:

Joyce Meyer Quote: “I wonder how many times people give up just before a breakthrough – when they are on the very brink of success.” (12 wallpapers) - Quotefancy

The reality is that sometimes we become frustrated awaiting change that seems to be on a different timeline than we’d like. We try to be patient and understanding, but it’s a wearying trial, and we fall into the mindset of futility. Apathy and complacency set in, and we all but give up on the possibility of our hopes, dreams, and goals coming to fruition.

We’re often looking to implement or adapt to a new lifestyle change with great anticipation and high hopes. Then we enter the doldrums with an impact so powerful that we almost lose all semblance of forwarding motion and fall into a slump that nearly renders us completely ineffective. The feeling leaves us helpless, and we’re unable to form a positive thought.

Here’s where choice comes into play. We may feel oppressed, repressed, and depressed. There might be a temptation to give up. We may want to stop fighting and give in to lethargy and pessimism. But, what if our silver lining is mere moments away? What if our efforts are about to come to fruition? What if the success we’ve been yearning for is imminent, and we only need to be patient a bit longer?

When we make a conscious choice to remain steadfast in attaining our goals and turn away from the negativity in favor of the promised gain, we position ourselves to glean the fruit of our patience. We purpose to make a concerted effort to hold on a little longer because we can almost feel the objective within our grasp. We now understand how to dwell in the storm’s peaceful eye and wait for the deluge to subside, rendering a brightness and clarity. We weather the storm and await the breakthrough because we know the reward will be excellent.

In Scripture, Romans 8:18 shares this encouragement:

“For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.” (NKJV)

There’s value in persevering. Remembering our strength, internal fortitude, and focusing on the resulting benefits is encouraging. The process helps us overcome perceived adversity so that we can enjoy successful results.

As you navigate the week’s tasks, choose to imagine your breakdowns becoming an inspiration to push forward. Make it your purpose to withstand the temptation to give up prematurely and allow life’s natural pace. Your breakthroughs are within your reach!

Be Well & Be Blessed!
