Good Morning and Happy Monday!
Today we commemorate the life and works of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. His commitment to nonviolent activism was rooted in the model of Mahatma Gandhi. Dr. King won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1964 for battling racial inequality, the youngest recipient of that time, and is credited with combating poverty and opposition to war. His “I Have a Dream” speech is regarded as one of the most powerful in American oratory.
According to his wife, Coretta Scott King, Dr. King wished to be remembered as someone who spent his life serving others.
Today we honor a man who was dedicated to right injustice and did so with his last breath. His life and works serve as a legacy of caring and compassion, putting action to words and character, and living a virtuous life pursuing human rights and dignity. Dr. King left us with a model of human kindness to aspire to, rising to the occasion of decency, inclusion, and unconditional love.
“Let the inner movement of your heart always be to love one another, and never play the role of an actor wearing a mask. Despise evil and embrace everything that is good and virtuous.” Romans 12:9 (TPT)
Have a wonderful week rising to new levels of compassionate understanding and shameless love!
Be Well & Be Blessed!
