Gold Meir, the Israeli teacher and politician, was best remembered as the Prime Minister of Israel in the late 1960’s and early 1970’s. She was considered strong-willed and straight-talking but was also regarded as the grandmother of the Jewish people during her tenure in office. When speaking of trust, she noted:

“Trust yourself, create the kind of self that you will be happy to live with all your life. Make the most of yourself by fanning the tiny, inner sparks of possibility into flames of achievement.”

It’s been said that if we don’t trust ourselves, we will have a difficult time becoming trustworthy. This is an interesting construct because often we think we know ourselves, but the reality is that sometimes we can be easily swayed when challenged. If we learn to be mindful and present to the everyday tasks, checking-in with our feelings and emotions, we can connect with our inner guidance and take the necessary steps toward trustworthiness and the fulfillment of our goals and dreams.

“Faith is like the bird…that can feel the light and sing…when the dawn is still dark… have faith and trust yourself.” -Unknown

Of course, there are risks, but all the lessons we learn in life, both affirming and challenging, lead us to a more comprehensive version of ourselves. You might say the weathering, much like a beautiful piece of driftwood, creates in us a strength of character that is the precursor to wisdom.

Explore how to trust yourself and your inner guidance more completely and fan those sparks into flames of achievement!
