Happy Monday!
I hope you enjoyed your weekend! So many fun summer things to do for those of us who love the heat. For those who aren’t enamored with the hot weather, hanging out somewhere cool is just the thing. My favorite is the beach. The picture below is our Penelope Grace visiting the beach for the first time. She’s a beach person, like me! Lol!!

This sweet love is definitely living her best life – experiencing her happily ever after in real-time!
I’m reminded of a conversation I recently had with a friend. My friend experienced some severe trauma variations from a young age into adulthood. However, she took a risk when she got to what looked like her tipping point. Sometimes taking a risk gives us perspective on our current realities and allows us to correctly leave the past in the past. For example, Pumbaa in the Lion King said, “You gotta put your behind in your past.” Timon corrected him with, “You gotta put your past behind ya.” Sage words from an animated meerkat.
Fawn Weaver, an American entrepreneur, historian, author, and founder of the non-profit organization known as the Nearest Green Foundation, has this to say:

I very much appreciate this sentiment because it encourages us to be responsible for our own reality and empowers us to be victors, not victims of our circumstances. The words above involve risk; however, they are not haphazard but stand on the principles of authenticity and managed expectations. We have a choice in the trajectory of our lives. We also have tools like prayer, mindfulness, attention to our physical and mental health, and seeking wise counsel to support our thought processes and decisions.
Proverbs 3:5-6 instructs us on how to make choices:
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.” (NKJV)
Sometimes, we’re encouraged by the Divine to take a risk. The ask may look like trust and patience, a literal leap of faith, or a subtle knowingness that we cannot justify with our earthly minds. Nevertheless, we know that if He asks for our obedience, we must quickly act because it’s bound to be in our best interests.
With my friend, the ask was huge. It involved leaving a career of many years, moving to another state, making new friends, and finding a new job. Fortunately, she took the risk, and now she’s living her happily ever after. We can, too! We must be willing to think outside the box, manage our expectations, and dare to believe that there’s more in store for us than the current circumstances.
Maybe you’ve already attained your happily ever after. I’m delighted for you and the blessings that have come because of your faithfulness. Perhaps sharing your story will encourage others to take a risk. I’m confident someone will benefit from your journey and wisdom, so please don’t be shy to share with others.
Let’s take some time this week to examine our reality, gauge whether or not we’re ready for more, and be willing to see our own happily ever after. I’m confident the effort will be worth the time and energy!
Be Well & Be Blessed!
