Each new day provides opportunities to make choices and to improve the quality of our lives. Some days it’s easy to jump out of bed and embrace the newness and possibilities in store for us. Other days we find ourselves wondering what new challenges we will face and if we have enough energy in reserve to successfully navigate even the most mundane of tasks.

There’s an old Arabian Proverb that states:

“He who has health has hope; he who has hope has everything.”

I believe this is an essential message. If we value and monitor our health, we create the optimistic attitude that our choices and discipline will affect other areas of our lives. Equally as significant, if we set positive intentions, our minds will generate opportunities for healthy choices. This reflection is valid throughout the various aspects of wellbeing.

We may find ourselves buried in daily undertakings and discover that we have neglected parts of our lives, such as socializing or mindfulness practices. As we make choices to correct that course, we may find ourselves positively impacted by the decision to meet with a friend for coffee. That choice may lead to an unplanned workout, which might give us the clarity we need to solve a troublesome problem. Solving the problem may lead to a sense of peace that bolsters us mentally and emotionally and gives us a new perspective. Through the process, we have attained both better health and deepened hope that lead to more balanced wellbeing.
