I hope you were able to find time to relax over the weekend. We live such busy lives we often neglect our basic need to rest and rejuvenate. Sometimes we push ourselves to extremes hoping to get a little ahead only to find we’re too tired to complete a task to its fullest extent.
This week we look at loyalty from another perspective.
I wonder how often we think of loyalty as a lifestyle? We reflect on loyalty in friendships, families, and organizations, things that are relational, but what about the processes and practices we pursue. George Bernard Shaw is credited with this thought:
“Life’s not about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself.”
So, if life is about creating yourself, it stands to reason that there would be loyalty in the pursuit of crafting not only the outcomes, but the journey toward our goals.
When we consider the journey we’re on, perhaps we might also review the loyalty with which we hold ourselves accountable in the steps we’re taking. I urge each of us to take a few moments this week, that’s right some time to rest, and contemplate the journey we’re on and our loyalty to the steps needed to accomplish our goals. Whether they’re physical, emotional, spiritual, or social, they’re all critical to our overall Wellbeing and deserve our loyalty.
