Health & Wellness Quotes - WHO Definition of Health - Sagewood Wellness Center

We appreciate the sentiment of this quote credited to the World Health Organization because it reflects the perspective needed to maintain equilibrium in all areas of Wellbeing. If you think about it, much of the time we strive to minimize the chance of disease, sometimes becoming obsessive about one or another area of our health and not looking at the overall picture. Sometimes we even focus on the infirmity, rather than set our intentions on optimum healthiness to preserve peace within.

This concept of setting intentions while continuing to seek perspective is the place where the practice of mindfulness can be beneficial. Mindfulness connects the function of our brains to the inner circuitry that explains our experiences. As we improve our capacity to focus on the present and release the ancillary thoughts that tend to become intrusive and distracting, we’re better able to access the lasting changes that promote Wellbeing.
