Happy Monday Before the New Year 2022!
I hope your Christmas celebration was joyful with loved ones surrounding you. As we look forward to the coming year, I pray your life is complete with abundant peace and contentment. I also pray for healing in all the areas of your life that need a positive turn and that the people who come into your life will offer new perspectives to enrich your purpose.
I’ve never been a great proponent of New Year’s resolutions. I think it’s because they’re such a set-up. We start with these grand ideas of making changes and then create intricate strategies to make sure we accomplish our goals. So often, we take on too much all at once; we get weary of the battle and give up. Sometimes there’s just not enough day for us to complete all the tasks, while other times, we get so preoccupied with getting the correct result that we forget to appreciate the process.
I think the essential element for us to remember is that the transition from one year to the next provides opportunities to begin again, to welcome the new. The adventure is in joyful anticipation of what might be. If we look at transitions in this manner, there’s not much that can stop us from finding something worthwhile in any newness or transition.

Yes, sometimes it looks like a rollercoaster ride – that’s life! What an adventure! What a rush! If we adopt a perspective of excitement and encouragement, we’re more likely to realize positive processing as we seek to become better versions of ourselves.
Others have similar thoughts:
“For last year’s words belong to last year’s language. And next year’s words await another voice.” T. S. Eliot
“New beginnings are in order, and you are bound to feel some level of excitement as new chances come your way.” Oscar Auliq-Ice
“There are far better things ahead than we leave behind.” C. S. Lewis
“And now we welcome the new year, full of things that have never been.” Rainer Maria Rilke
And, of course, Scripture offers this wisdom:
“Therefore if anyone is in Christ [that is, grafted in, joined to Him by faith in Him as Savior], he is a new creature [reborn and renewed by the Holy Spirit]; the old things [the previous moral and spiritual condition] have passed away. Behold, new things have come [because spiritual awakening brings a new life].” 2 Corinthians 5:17 (AMP)
“Again, a new commandment I write to you, which thing is true in Him and in you, because the darkness is passing away, and the true light is already shining.” 1 John 2:8 (NKJV)
And so, the adventure begins.
May the new year bring you an abundance of amazing opportunities, beautiful moments, and joyful experiences. May your positive actions and attitude inspire others. May you be brave enough to take on and overcome rewarding challenges. May you find yourself in high spirits and excellent health. May you love with all your heart and find peace in even the most turbulent of times. May the love you give always find its way back to you multiplied. And may you forever be filled with the hope and strength necessary to make your dreams a reality.
