I hope you had a relaxing weekend! As we get into full swing with the Fall months and activities, I encourage you to take time for the little things and to expand your capacity for mindful reflection. It’s in these moments that we discover more about ourselves and can push beyond our self-imposed limitations.
I’ve been thinking quite a bit about mindfulness and practices that enhance the neuroplasticity of the brain. I find it interesting that Aristotle and other Stoics were less interested in the science of the brain and focused more on the ways the heart influences decision-making processes. That’s one of the lovelier aspects of mindfulness.
Mindfulness then is a conscious effort to look at life through the lens of presence and how we practice the art of being, rather than allowing ourselves to become caught up in senseless action. That’s not to say we won’t be held accountable. It is important to the ways we engage our minds, through heart-vision, to complete tasks in a meaningful way.
This week, let’s pause when we’re feeling swept up in the activities and engage our powers of choice, enabling the brain and the heart, to manifest the best possible Wellbeing outcomes.
Be Well and Be Blessed!
