Happy November!

An extra hour of sleep yesterday! That means lighter mornings, darker evenings, and the beginning of the holiday season. I pray your days will be bright with the joy of the season and that you create meaningful moments with those important to you.

An essential area of wellbeing is that of our spirituality. Prayer is an integral component when attending to our spiritual health. The practice of prayer is intentional, is regarded with significance and reverence, and is consistent with the foundation of most faith traditions. Here are some thoughts on prayer:

“Perfect prayer does not consist in many words; silent remembering and pure intention raises the heart to that supreme Power.”

– Amit Ray

“What is prayer? Prayer is sending blessing to all. Prayer is sending your compassion to all. Prayer is creating an antidote of negative thoughts.”

– Osho

“For me, prayer is a surge of the heart. It is a simple look turned toward heaven. It is a cry of recognition and of love, embracing both trial and joy.”

-St. Therese of Lisieux

“Prayer is a force as real as terrestrial gravity. As a physician, I have seen men lifted out of sickness by the power of prayer. It is the only power in the world that overcomes the laws of nature.”

– Alexis Carrell

“Prayer is the key of the morning and the bolt of the evening.”

– Mahatma Gandhi

“Prayer: The world’s greatest wireless connection.”

– Anonymous

“Don’t be pulled in different directions or worried about a thing. Be saturated in prayer throughout each day, offering your faith-filled requests before God with overflowing gratitude. Tell him every detail of your life, then God’s wonderful peace that transcends human understanding will make the answers known to you through Jesus Christ.”

– Philippians 4:6-7 (TPT)

Prayer is powerful and intimate. The practice establishes a connection with God that allows complete freedom of expression and the ability to be transparent and authentic.

I hope this week, you’ll be able to spend some time in quiet reflection on the extraordinary blessing of prayer!
