Sometimes we need to take a mental health day to get some rest from the thoughts that overtake our consciousness. It might look like a day at the beach or quietly reading a good novel. The essential factor is to allow ourselves a break in the daily grind to gain clarity and perspective. I hope you were able to create a space for that much-needed rest this weekend.

If you take a moment to think about it, you’re probably the happiest when your outlook on the various facets of your life stems from gratitude, optimism, and generosity. Creating a healthy mindset extends beyond the immediate and flows from an inner knowledge to support our purpose, dreams, and desires.
The ability to see beyond perceived obstacles isn’t reserved for a favored few who are fortunate enough to get good results. It comes from a disciplined approach to accessing our best selves with the express purpose of building good foundational habits that support our wellbeing. The investment of time and energy we extend to maintain our mental acuity creatively sets us up for renewed vitality in every area of our lives. Studies have shown, for example, that when we have a positive mental outlook, we are better able to perform complicated tasks more precisely and with ease.
