We look today at another aspect of responsibility that has to do with choices.
Today we commemorate many heroes. It’s a day when the country locks arms to console, remember, and continue to stand firm for our beliefs. September 11th is a difficult day for many who lost loved-ones, and for others, it reinforces that strength and pride that come with being an American. Today we remember those who lost their lives, innocent victims of illegitimate and misplaced anger. We also remember those who served valiantly, sidelining personal safety to reach out to others in need. We honor those who made difficult choices because they felt a responsibility to do so.
Responsibility comes in many forms. For us, this day is a reminder that we are responsible for our own freedom and that of others. Our self-determination and resolve as a society depend on the ability to take ownership over what happens to us personally and then take appropriate steps to ensure others remain free to choose for themselves.
Tomorrow depends on your choices, so implement your ability to be responsible and choose well today.
