Perspective can be essential to our understanding. For example, if we’re singularly focused on our ‘to do’ list, and we overlook situations where our intervention might yield a more positive outcome, we fail to take responsibility, and we may miss a promising opportunity.
Moliere had this to say:
Jean-Baptiste Poquelin, better known as Moliere, was a French playwright and actor. He was famous for his uncanny expertise with satire and comedic literature, penning such works as The Misanthrope and The Bourgeois Gentleman.
Contemporary motivational speaker and author, Hal Elrod, offered these thoughts:
It appears that taking responsibility, whether it be considering the things in which we’re actively engaged or situations where we might prefer not to act, is impacted by our perspective. In the same way, success is determined by our ability to view our responsibility and the choices we make to act or refrain from taking action. We thrive when we purpose to maximize perspective in taking responsibility to accomplish desired and lasting change.
Make it a purposeful week of exercising your ability to see beyond the obvious and take responsible action.
