I hope you enjoyed the holiday! Many were able to benefit from a long weekend away. Others stayed inside to avoid the heat. With any luck, you were able to take some precious self-care time in whatever ways were most beneficial to your overall wellbeing.

The three most important words this week are hydrate, hydrate, hydrate! Be sure to have plenty of water on hand and plan time to cool down, particularly if your workout is outside. And, please be sure to have water available for your pets and the wildlife. I’m confident that they’ll appreciate your thoughtfulness!

“It is never too late to set another goal or dream a new dream.”

I think this is important to the quality of our lives, not only from a physical perspective but in the many ways that life tends to redirect us. Sometimes fear keeps us from moving out of our comfort zones and into uncharted areas. There are occasions when we want to give up due to unforeseen circumstances or when the going gets tough. Once in a while, we buy into invasive thoughts that suggest we aren’t enough.

It’s helpful, during discouraging times, to have support. That might look like a trusted friend or confidant, a familiar face that encourages, or a professional that can assist in doing a deep dive into old tapes that aren’t useful anymore. Another possibility is becoming part of a group which shares similar thoughts, ideas, or goals. People with whom we share an affinity in some aspect of wellbeing.

There are many options in to join and connect with people with whom you can savor the journey of designing your best self. Don’t be shy to engage with one another. You’ll find the support you need when you’re being challenged and someone to celebrate with you when you reach a new goal.
