self-dis·ci·pline

/ˈself ˈdisiplin/

noun

the ability to control one’s feelings and overcome one’s weaknesses; the ability to pursue what one thinks is right despite temptations to abandon it.

In other words, it’s your ability to direct and encourage yourself, remain focused, and to accomplish that with integrity.

John Maxwell is an accomplished leadership mentor and speaker. He is dedicated to helping others realize their significance and potential, and believes that small, steady progress leads to eventual success. He authored the following:

“Small disciplines repeated with consistency every day lead to great achievements gained slowly over time.”

I wonder how many of us have stopped short of our goals because we lacked the ability to push through the most recent adversity. I also wonder how many times the challenge that broke our will and self-discipline was the very last obstacle before the realization of our goal.

This week take that last step in pursuing your goals and go that extra mile. I’m convinced that self-discipline won’t be as daunting a task as it may seem and will be worth the celebration at the end!

“Self-discipline is the magic power that makes you virtually unstoppable.” -Unknown

Have a wonderful week exploring your perceived limits and then reaching beyond!
