It’s Thanksgiving Week! Time to wash the good china, chop firewood for the hearth, cook, bake, and feast! Thanksgiving is celebrated throughout the world from both faith-based perspectives and in gratitude for a bountiful harvest and the beginning of winter. Some of the other countries that celebrate similarly to the US are Canada, Liberia, Grenada, the Philippines, and Saint Lucia. Other related holidays are recognized in Germany (Erntedankfest), Japan (Kinro Kansha no Hi), India (Thai Pongal), and the Netherlands (Dankdag).
